At the end of 1943, on the initiative of Father Verbunt, it was decided to build this chapel in order to be spared the disasters of the war and to obtain peace. It derives its name from the fact that Mary said in Fatima that people should pray for peace. The entire hamlet of Kaarschot raised funds for this purpose. Because there were no new stones available, the stones of the old church path were used. On May 14, 1944, this chapel was consecrated by Father Verbunt.
