The hamlet was already mentioned in 1407. There are several monumental farms, such as the gabled farmhouse "De Martiene Plats," which dates back to 1640.
A few hundred meters southwest of Weverslo lies the Weverslose Berg. This is a former drifting dune that is now forested and, at 38.6 meters, is the highest point in North Limburg. At the top of this dune is a viewpoint. The forest mainly consists of oaks, which were used for coppicing and also helped to stabilize the drifting sand. After World War II, no more coppice was harvested, and the oaks grew into a forest.
