In 2011, the vineyard was planted with 700 vines. The choice of varieties fell on three new varieties: Johanniter, Solaris, and Monarch. These have been developed in such a way that they are resistant to diseases such as powdery mildew and botrytis. An additional advantage is that only very sporadically must crop protection agents be used against these diseases, thus allowing for sustainable practices. The vineyard is planted to the south and can fully benefit from the Zeeland sun. The soil is a black sandy soil that is enriched every year with lime and humus. This way, the vines can access all the important nutrients to produce a nice harvest of healthy grapes in late autumn.
