A city trip in Zwolle is not complete without a bike ride along the dikes of Hanseatic city Hasselt and the IJssel.
In the Netherlands, you have to cycle. Fortunately, there is an extensive network of cycling junctions along quiet and low-traffic roads. You can take a bike trip in stages along the Hanseatic cities, but we make a large loop around Zwolle that touches both the town of Hasselt and the banks of the IJssel. The route starts right by the Zwolle station, skirting the historic city center, before heading into the countryside and reaching the Hanseatic city of Hasselt along the Vecht. We return to Zwolle via the Zwartewater and along the IJssel. Water is never far away. Despite the proximity of the provincial capital, the route is very safe and quiet to ride.
