The start is at the railway station of Simpelveld. Parking is free here. The station has been restored to its former glory and is now being used by the ZLSM as a tourist attraction. The steam engine and the Schienenbus depart here regularly.
The route is a beautiful panoramic route and runs partly along the stream and through fields and along the railway line.
