Khao Chakan is located in Khao Chakan Sub-district next to Wat Tham Khao Chakan. It is a limestone mountain with three peaks of which the highest peak is 240 meters above sea level. Khao Chakan is the middle peak and stands between Khao Ming and Khao Falami. The three mountains are part of the Khao Chakan Arboretum under the supervision of the Department of National Park, Wildlife and Flora. The Arboretum is home to wild monkeys and bats. The bats can be seen flying out at sunset. At the foot of the hill stands the temple called Wat Tham Khao Chakan. The limestone mountain features a large number of caves, such as the Hanuman Cave, the Mahasingh Cave, the Namthip Cave, the Kaeo Phlai Chumphon. The most popular is the Talu Cave which houses a Buddha image.
