Debido a la riqueza de un hipódromo y un centro ecuestre, Waregem es conocida como la cuna de la equitación en nuestro país.
El hipódromo Gaverbeek tiene 17 ha de tamaño y se encuentra a un tiro de piedra del centro de la ciudad.
Cada fin de semana, desde principios de mayo hasta septiembre, se celebran aquí carreras de trote.
