Waasten es una aldea en la provincia belga de Hainaut, y una parte del municipio y municipio de servicios de Komen-Waasten desde 1977. Al establecer la frontera lingüística en 1963, Waasten se clasificó como francófona con facilidades lingüísticas para la minoría de habla neerlandesa, como resultado de lo cual el aún independiente municipio de la provincia de Flandes Occidental fue trasladado a Hainaut. En 1977, Waasten se unió al municipio fusionado de Komen-Waasten.
