La atracción más conocida en Tervuren es sin duda el AfricaMuseum. Originalmente, el Palacio de África servía como museo del Congo, pero cuando este pronto se desbordó, el rey Leopoldo II mandó construir un nuevo museo. En uno de los pabellones laterales se alojó el famoso archivo Stanley. Además de ser un museo, también es una renombrada institución científica con colecciones de fama mundial.
