El castillo está mayormente rodeado de agua. Este castillo data de la Edad Media. Fue renovado en el siglo XVI y más tarde en dos ocasiones en el siglo XVIII, en parte en estilo clasicista y alrededor de 1910 en un estilo historicista. Uno de los habitantes más conocidos fue Carlos de Saint-Omaars, quien creó un jardín y una colección de plantas únicas.
De la construcción original del castillo, poco ha quedado. Solo en las partes del sótano y en la base de la pared del frente hay capas consecutivas de piedra natural y ladrillo. Después de la Segunda Guerra Mundial, el castillo fue renovado. Solo el escudo en la fachada y algunas placas de duelo en el gran salón recuerdan a los habitantes nobles.
