Este edificio fue fundado en 1900 por la asociación filantrópica bruselense 'Les Marçunvins', de la cual tomó su nombre original. Esta asociación fue fundada en 1875 y ofrecía apoyo financiero a jóvenes estudiantes. Más tarde también organizaron colonias de vacaciones para niños débiles. La ubicación en Westende era, por lo tanto, ideal debido al aire saludable del mar.
Durante la Primera Guerra Mundial, este edificio fue arrasado. Sin embargo, en 1930 fue reconstruido y posteriormente ampliado.
Es un bonito ejemplo de arquitectura modernista: el edificio tiene solo dos plantas, tiene un techo plano y está pintado completamente de blanco. Esquinas redondeadas y afiladas se alternan de manera juguetona.
