Esta lengua arenosa se extiende desde Retie hasta Grobbendonk. La Cordillera Kempen es un área natural única en las Kempens de Amberes, conocida como el mayor relieve de la región. Es un vestigio de dunas de tierra que se formaron cuando el mar se retiró. La cordillera se extiende a lo largo de 15 km y conecta municipios como Retie, Kasterlee, Herentals, Lille, Vorselaar y Grobbendonk. El área consta de bosques de coníferas, campos de brezo, lagunas (como Zwart Water y Snepkensvijver), dunas parabólicas y caminos hundidos. Tiene una rica biodiversidad con plantas raras como la brezo, el drosera pequeño y el musgo de turba. Grandes partes están protegidas a nivel europeo y ofrecen un hábitat para diversas aves reproductoras y acuáticas.
