Description

Este estanque, ya antiguo, se extiende al sur de la localidad de Kelmis-La Calamine, al borde de la Gueule. Está rodeado de una vegetación diversa, que incluye sauces, Magnocaricetum y muy atractivos juncos para las aves acuáticas y de cañaveral locales y migratorias (rascón, carricero, aguja ...). En ese lugar se encuentran varias especies de plantas raras, especialmente el falso arroz (Leersia oryzoides), una hierba en fuerte retroceso en Valonia, que aquí encuentra su ubicación única en la tierra de Herve. Al oeste del cuerpo de agua, también se extiende un interesante vertedero de calamina.
