En 1627 el nombre Brouwerij De Croon ya existía en Mechelen.
En 1855, los hermanos Charles y Richard Lamot se convirtieron en propietarios de Brouwerij De Croon . Los padres de los hermanos tenían su propia cervecería, una en Willebroek y la otra en Boom.
Justo antes de la Primera Guerra Mundial la producción era de sólo 30.000 hectolitros , hasta que se construyó una nueva cervecería en 1922 . Estaba en Van Beethovenstraat en ese momento.
En 1981, Lamot pasó a manos de la entonces cervecería Piedboeuf , que pasó a formar parte del grupo InBev. En 1994 cayó el telón de la cervecería Lamot en Mechelen.
Lamot's Place es ahora un lugar acogedor en el centro de Mechelen. No solo es un centro histórico y de conferencias , sino que también puede disfrutar de buena comida y bebida en el Grand Café Lamot con vistas a Vismarkt y Dyle.
En Brouwgebouw y las antiguas oficinas de Lamot encontrará Food and Drink Culture Puro , donde también podrá descubrir recuerdos del antiguo sitio de Lamot.
