A lo largo del arroyo encontrarás algunos hayas caídas. El fenómeno de los 'árboles caídos' es algo que podemos esperar cada vez más en los próximos años. Esto se debe a la intensificación y adelantamiento de las tormentas otoñales debido al cambio climático. Debido a que hay más calor, y por ende energía en la atmósfera, esa energía se traduce en tormentas más poderosas. Estas comienzan temprano en otoño cuando los árboles aún tienen muchas hojas y, por lo tanto, recogen mucho viento. Además, las hayas no arraigan profundamente, y aquí estás sobre arenas blandas de Bruselas, lo que crea una receta para muchas de esas hayas caídas. Además, a lo largo del arroyo también hay un alto nivel freático, donde las hayas definitivamente no quieren hundir sus raíces profundamente.
