Justo enfrente de los restos de los edificios del castillo, un dosel de majestuosos hayas filtra la luz del sol. Durante siglos, los señores del castillo y sus visitantes caminaron y montaron a caballo por este camino de acceso de 400 metros hacia el castillo de Bovelingen. La Alameda Roja debe su nombre a la tierra roja que se encontraba aquí. Esta consistía en desechos de los ladrillos que se usaron para los anexos del castillo.
