Geomorfológicamente, la región fue formada principalmente durante la Glaciación de Vístula hace unos 15,000 años. En el suroeste del municipio, la influencia glacial en el área protegida Biesenthaler Becken es especialmente reconocible a través de muchos lagos en forma de lenguas.
Los asentamientos son Dewinsee-Siedlung, Eiserbude, Hellmühle, Priesterpfuhlsiedlung, Siedlung, Vorwerk, Wehrmühle y Wullwinkel.
