La ciudad de Uetersen [ˈyːtɐzən] (anteriormente también Ütersen (Holstein) y danés Yttersen) se encuentra en el distrito de Pinneberg en Schleswig-Holstein. Es conocida como la ciudad de las rosas y de las bodas a orillas de la Pinnau. Uetersen pertenece a la región metropolitana de Hamburgo, al paisaje marítimo de Unterelbe y a la región activa de Pinneberger Marsch & Geest. Esta pequeña ciudad, con alrededor de 17,800 habitantes, es una de las ciudades más densamente pobladas de Schleswig-Holstein. La ciudad sirve a las comunidades rurales del suroeste del distrito de Pinneberg como un subcentro y punto de referencia para la provisión de servicios, bienes e infraestructuras. En total, la ciudad abastece a un área circundante con aproximadamente 50,000 personas. Desde hace algunos años, busca ser reconocida como el mayor subcentro de Schleswig-Holstein con funciones parciales de un centro medio.
