Rosenberg se encuentra entre Ellwangen al sureste y Schwäbisch Hall al noroeste en la zona de transición de las montañas de Ellwangen y Virngrund, que ambas se consideran parte del área natural de las montañas de Schwäbisch-Franken.
La elevación más alta del municipio de Rosenberg es el Hohenberg, sobre el cual también pasa un tramo del Camino de Santiago Franconiano-Suabo. El punto más bajo se sitúa poco por debajo de 430 m sobre el nivel del mar, por debajo del lago Orrot en el valle de Orrot cerca de la punta este del territorio municipal. En su límite suroeste en el valle del Blinden Rot, al noreste de Bühlerzell-Röhmen, el lecho de este río también ha sido excavado casi tan profundamente.
