Kieselbach se encuentra en el valle del Werratal y se extiende a lo largo del curso inferior del Schergesbach, un afluente del Werra de aproximadamente 6 km de longitud. La cima del Kraynberg, que se eleva en forma de cono desde el valle del Werratal, con la ruina del castillo de Krayenburg, se encuentra a solo 840 m en línea recta al sureste del centro del pueblo. Frente a él, al noroeste del lugar, se encuentran el Eichkopf y el Hechberg con la cúpula secundaria de Eierberg.
En el noroeste de la localidad pasa la B 84. En el pantanoso valle al norte del pueblo se han creado tres estanques: Blätter-, Schaf- y Wahlteich, que sirvieron para la cría de peces y hoy en día también son importantes para la conservación de la naturaleza y las especies.
