El Castillo Thurant es un castillo cerca del lugar Alken a orillas del Mosela, en un ancho saliente de una montaña. Se encuentra en el Landkreis Mayen-Koblenz en el estado de Renania-Palatinado.
A partir de mediados del siglo XIII, los arzobispados de Colonia y Tréveris fueron copropietarios del complejo. Las diócesis hacían que su parte del castillo fuera administrada por castillos de nobleza. Cada mitad, por lo tanto, poseía su propio torreón, sus propios edificios de vivienda y de trabajo, y su propio acceso separado. Desde principios del siglo XVI, comenzó un gradual deterioro del castillo doble. Las devastaciones durante la Guerra de Sucesión del Palatinado degradaron aún más el complejo a una ruina.
