La mina de yeso Saturn en el área de los municipios de Breitenburg y Kronsmoor es un área cerrada para la extracción de yeso, propiedad de Holcim AG. La mina tiene una longitud de aproximadamente un kilómetro y un ancho de aproximadamente 700 metros.
La mina fue operada hasta 1916 por la empresa "Portlandcementfabrik Saturn", fundada en 1898 en Brunsbüttel, que desde su fundación sólo generó pérdidas. La empresa fue posteriormente adquirida por Kali Chemie AG de Hannover. La fábrica fue la primera planta química en Brunsbüttel, que fue demolida en 1981. El área fue elegida para la extracción porque el cercano río Stör podía ser utilizado para el transporte.
