Conecta el lago Rambower con el lago Rudower. El canal pasa por el pantano de Rambow junto al pequeño pueblo de Nausdorf, un distrito de Lenzen. Ya en el siglo XV había un flujo de molinos que impulsaba el molino de agua de Nausdorf, que existió hasta 1833. El canal fue construido entre 1862 y 1879 y se amplió a su tamaño actual en 1924/25.
El canal tiene aproximadamente 5 km de largo y fue diseñado con 8 a 10 m de ancho, hoy en día tiene en algunos lugares un máximo de 3 m de ancho. Su profundidad es de aproximadamente 1 m, y en el fondo hay una gruesa capa de barro.
