Como Casa Fridtjof Nansen, se denomina hoy al edificio ubicado en Merkelstraße 4 en Göttingen. La casa fue construida en 1899/1900 para el fabricante de telas Ferdinand Levin, según el diseño de los arquitectos berlinenses Hans Grisebach y August Dinklage.
La villa tiene una planta de aproximadamente 750 m² y cuenta con cuatro pisos, de los cuales dos son completos. Así, se obtiene una superficie útil total de 1850 m². Escaleras de mármol conducen al vestíbulo del edificio. Aquí, columnas especialmente ricamente decoradas son notorias, al igual que los vitrales diseñados por Georg Karl Rohde de Bremen. Una chimenea está flanqueada por estatuas de leones que llevan el antiguo escudo de armas de Göttingen, una G dorada. En el sótano hay una cocina decorada con azulejos de Delft.
