La calle de los burdeles en el distrito de Oberhausen-Mitte del distrito Alt-Oberhausen existe en su forma actual desde 1963. El núcleo relativamente grande del barrio rojo, en relación con la población de Oberhausen, consiste en la zona regulada por la ordenanza del distrito de exclusión de Flaßhofstraße 17 a 46, con 16 casas, en su mayoría casas de citas, donde las prostitutas alquilan en total unas 230 habitaciones. Según la policía, en 2011, la mayoría de las mujeres que trabajaban allí provenían de Rumanía, Bulgaria o Polonia.
