La Gesamtschule Kamen es una escuela secundaria integrada en Kamen, en la región oriental del Ruhr. Actualmente, la escuela es atendida por más de 1.300 alumnos, que son enseñados por alrededor de 130 profesores. La educación secundaria cuenta con aproximadamente 300 estudiantes.
La escuela comenzó sus operaciones en 1969. Debido a la alta cantidad de alumnos, poco después de la apertura de la Gesamtschule se construyó un nuevo edificio que ofrecía espacio para aproximadamente 3,800 estudiantes. Así, la Gesamtschule Kamen fue la escuela secundaria integrada más grande de Alemania. Poco tiempo después de establecerse en el nuevo edificio, la escuela fue dividida en dos escuelas secundarias independientes. Así surgieron la Carlo-Schmid-Gesamtschule y la Hermann-Ehlers-Gesamtschule, que a partir de ahí compartieron el edificio. Tras la creación de la Fridtjof-Nansen-Realschule y la Escuela Principal Municipal de Kamen, ambas escuelas secundarias fueron nuevamente unidas en una sola. La escuela secundaria se trasladó a una parte del edificio.
