El Wambachsee es uno de los seis lagos de la Sechs-Seen-Platte en Wedau. Es el único lago que no está directamente conectado con los otros lagos. Está conectado con el Masurensee a través de un canal subterráneo que linda con el club de piragüismo.
El Wambachsee es el único lago de la Sechs-Seen-Platte donde se permite bucear. El lago también es un centro de formación de la Asociación de Buceadores Deportivos Alemanes. Hay una entrada para buceadores deportivos, que facilita el acceso, en la orilla este del lago.
