Christoph 9 es un helicóptero de rescate operado por el Ministerio Federal del Interior en la Clínica de Accidentes de la Asociación Profesional de Duisburgo, ubicada en el barrio sur de Buchholz. La tripulación de tres personas vuela anualmente hasta 1,300 misiones en un radio de 50 kilómetros alrededor del centro de rescate aéreo inaugurado el 16 de septiembre de 1975 en el sur de Duisburgo. Desde una cooperación de Euregio en 2003, Christoph 9 también es alarmado para misiones transfronterizas en los Países Bajos. En febrero de 2008, se puso en servicio un nuevo helicóptero del tipo Eurocopter EC 135 T2i, que reemplazó al BO 105 de doce años.
