La colina Schlangenberg tiene una altura de 276 metros sobre el nivel del mar y se encuentra en la vecindad directa del distrito Breinigerberg, que pertenece a Stolberg. En los siglos XVIII y XIX, fue uno de los centros de extracción de galmita en la región. Hoy en día, la reserva natural que rodea la colina se llama Reserva Natural Schlangenberg.
