La reserva natural Nieder Heide en Egelsberg tiene aproximadamente 4,6 hectáreas y se encuentra en el suroeste de la ciudad de Moers. Comprende un húmedo bosque de abedules y robles y limita al sur directamente con la mayor reserva natural de Krefeld, Egelsberg. Juntas, las dos reservas naturales son casi completamente parte del área de conservación FFH DE-4605-302 Egelsberg, lo que hace que la zona forme parte de la red de áreas protegidas europeas Natura 2000.
