Los restos de la fortaleza de Torstein, llamada en una escritura anterior Thorstein, son un castillo espolón desaparecido en un promontorio cerca de Bad Tabarz en el distrito de Gotha en el bosque de Turingia.
El lugar del castillo se eleva sobre un pequeño espolón rocoso de 566 m sobre el nivel del mar del pequeño Wagenberg, aproximadamente 80 m sobre el Lauchagrund. Se encuentra aproximadamente a 3 km al suroeste de Tabarz. Inmediatamente junto al castillo pasa una antigua ruta comercial medieval que sube hacia la Gran Pradera - Pequeño Inselsberg, la actual L 1024. A lo largo de esta carretera se encontraban también los castillos de Stolzenburg y Leuchtenburg, que estaban a solo 1 km de distancia.
