El pueblo se encuentra en la ladera este del valle de Iller, aproximadamente a 2 km al norte de Illertissen. Al este se encuentra el antiguo pueblo, al oeste se conectan, en parte un poco alejadas, las áreas de asentamiento. El Schwärzlegraben y el Krautgartengraben nacen en o cerca del lugar y se conectan al norte con el Mauchegraben.
Betlinshausen ya era un popular lugar de peregrinación en la Baja Edad Media. La iglesia de San Juan Bautista con sus pequeñas torres de cúpula data del periodo barroco.
