Königsberg se encuentra en la región de Gleiberger. Construido sobre una roca de diabas, es el barrio más elevado del municipio. Cerca de Königsberg nacen dos importantes afluentes del Lahn, el río Bieber, que es el afluente Strupbach al norte, y el afluente inmediato Schwalbenbach al sur.
Según la tradición oral, Königsberg es muy antiguo. Se dice que el rey franco Childerich I. ya había construido una fortaleza fronteriza contra los alamanes aquí alrededor del año 450, aunque esto no está documentado. Durante excavaciones al azar en la antigua marca, una zona del Castillo, se encontraron en los años 30 bajo pesadas losas de pizarra fragmentos de cerámica, cuya forma indicaba restos de urnas, por lo que se sospecha que allí hay antiguas tumbas que podrían datar de la época de la cultura de los campos de urnas.
