Redondela[1] es un municipio de Galicia, España, situado en la provincia de Pontevedra e integrado en el Área Metropolitana de Vigo , en la comarca de Vigo. La villa de Redondela es la capital del municipio y se encuentra en la parroquia de Redondela.El término municipal tiene una extensión de 51,9 km². En el año 2019 contaba con una población empadronada de 29 218 habitantes en el municipio y 7433 en la villa. En ese año era el cuarto municipio más poblado de la provincia, tras Vigo, Pontevedra y Villagarcía de Arosa. El término municipal está situado entre las dos primeras, y la villa dista 13 km de Vigo y 20 de Pontevedra.
