Buendía es un municipio español de la provincia de Cuenca, en la comunidad autónoma de Castilla-La Mancha. Da nombre al condado de Buendía, otorgado a la familia Acuña por el infante don Alfonso en 1465 a favor de Pedro Vázquez de Acuña.
La localidad se encuentra en la provincia de Cuenca y linda con la provincia de Guadalajara y se encuentra junto al embalse al que da nombre.
