Guía de Isora, capital del municipio homólogo, está situada a 580 msnm, en el punto de contacto entre los malpaíses de la zona occidental del municipio y los materiales antiguos de la mitad oriental. El entorno urbano mantiene un caserío relativamente bien conservado.
Si bien Guía de Isora ha sido tradicionalmente la población más importante del municipio, en las últimas décadas ha perdido importancia ante el crecimiento de las zonas costeras, y ha tenido dificultades para convertirse en capital comarcal.
