El Templo Matriz y Arcipreztal de Santiago de Los Caballeros de Gáldar, se encuentra en el municipio grancanario de Gáldar . Asentado sobre el Palacio de los Guanartemes, el actual templo fue construido en el siglo XVIII, bajo supervisión del arquitecto Diego Nicolás Eduardo, aunque la parroquia data de 1486.
Con los privilegios jubilares, admitidos por Juan XXIII concediendo el Jubileo Plenario y en el que Juan Pablo II otorgó la Perpetuidad absoluta en 1992.
La Iglesia es de gran raigambre histórica, tanto por el edificio en sí como por su calidad de parroquia, al igual que por el tesoro histórico artístico que encierra. Si importante es arquitectónicamente, no lo es menos desde el punto de vista histórico. Sus raíces se profundizan con anterioridad a la conquista de la Isla de Gran Canaria, donde se habla de un lugar bendecido y dedicado al patrón de España.
