La primera iglesia de la parroquia de Esporles, citada ya en 1248, fue básicamente una sencilla construcción, de estilo gótico primitivo y probablemente de una sola nave. El templo actual está dedicado a San Pedro, patrón de la población. Su construcción se inició en 1904 y fue bendecido en 1923 y se basó en un proyecto del arquitecto Gaspar Bennàssar, y responde a líneas neogóticas con las que el arquitecto quería rendir un homenaje a la catedral, La Llonja y Santa Eulalia. Como en cualquier pueblo medieval fue muy importante, y era en realidad la aglutinadora de toda la vida municipal.
Actualmente se realizan ceremonias religiosas y es visitable.
