La presa de Malpasset es una presa de arco, hoy en ruinas, construida sobre el Reyran, el último afluente de la margen izquierda del Argens.
Su retención debía asegurar el suministro de agua a la aglomeración de Fréjus–Saint-Raphaël, a los municipios circundantes y a su llanura agrícola. El 2 de diciembre de 1959, cinco años después de la finalización de su construcción, precipitaciones intensas provocan una crecida del lago de la retención y luego la ruptura de la presa. El desbordamiento aguas abajo de unos cincuenta millones de metros cúbicos de agua provoca 423 muertes y daños materiales considerables, carreteras, ferrocarriles, granjas, edificios destruidos. Es una de las mayores catástrofes civiles francesas del siglo XX.
