La Cause, o Cose según su forma antigua, es un río del departamento francés de Bouches-du-Rhône que nace en el flanco noreste de la montaña Sainte-Victoire y desemboca en el Arc cerca de Aix-en-Provence.
La Cause nace en el municipio de Vauvenargues, cerca del Pic des Mouches, en el flanco norte de la cresta principal de la Sainte-Victoire. Dirigiéndose primero hacia el norte, pierde rápidamente altitud, luego se dirige hacia el oeste, bordeando el pueblo de Vauvenargues, hasta la retención del embalse de Bimont, que además se alimenta de agua por el canal de Provence. Desde el embalse, se orienta al suroeste y excava profundas gargantas, donde desemboca en la retención del embalse Zola, antiguo depósito de agua de la ciudad de Aix-en-Provence. La Cause desciende luego hacia el sur, pasa a 180 metros de altitud en el lugar de las ruinas de un acueducto romano en un bloqueo rocoso que domina Tholonet, y luego desciende en suave pendiente hasta el hamlet de Palette, donde se une al Arc, su río colector, a 156 metros de altitud.
