A 10 km al noreste de Charleville-Mézières, NEUFMANIL alberga a 1.228 "Néomesniliens", apodados "Crayats" (crayat es una escoria de fundición). Neufmanil se anexionó a Francia en 1769. Evacuado en 1940, el pueblo sufrió graves daños (el "château" fue destruido en 1941). Un pueblo "rodeado" por el bosque... el bosque cubre unas 420 hectáreas y está formado por especies nobles (roble, haya, carpe y también abedul). El municipio se esfuerza por ofrecer a sus habitantes y visitantes un entorno limpio y florido, tanto en verano como en invierno. Con una veintena de asociaciones, es un pueblo rico en actividades.
