La primera proyección tuvo lugar aquí el 10 de julio de 1914, unos días antes de la guerra, y recibió el nombre de Excelsior.Tras dos grandes transformaciones en 1952 y 1978, el establecimiento cerró en octubre de 2006 para realizar importantes obras de modernización.Una vez encontrados los medios financieros, las obras comenzaron el 4 de agosto de 2008 y se inauguraron el 24 de abril de 2009.El cine Turenne cuenta con 3 pantallas que ofrecen una programación ecléctica.El cine en 3D está disponible. Desde 2011, el cine Turenne ha pasado a la proyección digital.
