Ajaltsije es una pequeña ciudad del suroeste de Georgia, capital de la región de Samtsje-Yavajeti y del distrito homónimo.
Está situada en la confluencia entre el río Kurá y el Aragvi a orillas del río Potsjovis, que separa la ciudad en la ciudad vieja, en el norte, y la nueva, en el sur. El nombre de la ciudad en georgiano significa "nueva fortaleza". La población era de 17 903 hab. en 2014, la mayoría georgianos con una minoría importante de armenios .[1]
