El río Estrimón es un río de la Tracia antigua, el más largo después del Axios. En la mitología griega, es el nombre del dios-río Estrimón , y fue la musa Euterpe quien engendró con el dios-río Estrimón al héroe tracio Reso, muerto en la Guerra de Troya. Se creía que había sido el padre con Neera de Evadne, y que Heracles arrojó en él grandes rocas para poder cruzarlo.
