Varenna es un lugar en la región italiana de Lombardía y pertenece a la provincia de Lecco.
El pintoresco lugar está situado en la orilla oriental del lago de Como, en la desembocadura del río Esino. El pueblo cuenta con muchas estrechas callejuelas con escaleras y tiene un pequeño puerto pesquero antiguo. El principal edificio del pueblo es la iglesia de San Giorgio, construida en 1313, con su alto campanario.
Desde Varenna, hay un ferry de automóviles que va y viene al lugar de Cadenabbia en la otra orilla. También hay conexiones de barco regulares con los lugares de Menaggio y Bellagio. Varenna tiene una estación en la línea de tren Milán-Tirano.
