A la gloria perdida de Lido di Venezia le acompaña un sentimiento de melancolía, la aceptación de la finitud. Personas mayores en el mercado se saludan entre sí, intercambian palabras. Pero saben: este es un lugar para extinguirse. Lo que me sorprende, tan cerca de la ciudad asfixiada por el turismo masivo: los pueblos de pescadores en Lido di Venezia son pueblos donde viven pescadores de verdad. Hombres mayores observan apoyados en sus bicicletas cómo se reparan las barcas en un huracán sonoro de música y discos de corte. Las gaviotas siguen como manchas de pintura las embarcaciones que navegan por la laguna.
