Lichtenvoorde es un lugar neerlandés en el municipio de Oost Gelre en la Achterhoek, provincia de Gelderland.
A principios del siglo XIV, Gijsbert IV de Bronckhorst mandó construir el castillo de Lichtenvoorde cerca de un vado en la parte sur de la señoría de Borculo. Se menciona por primera vez en 1312. En 1496, Frederik de Bronckhorst fundó una capilla junto al castillo, de la cual más tarde surgiría una parroquia independiente. Anteriormente, Lichtenvoorde, junto con las localidades vecinas de Vragender, Lievelde y Zieuwent, pertenecía eclesiásticamente a Groenlo. También se formó un pueblo cerca del castillo y la capilla, el actual Lichtenvoorde.
