Musselkanaal es un pueblo lineal en la provincia de Groningen, Países Bajos. En 2021, el pueblo contaba con 7,130 habitantes. El pueblo está situado en la prolongación de Stadskanaal en el municipio del mismo nombre y junto al Musselkanaal. El pueblo limita con la Semslinie y, por lo tanto, con la provincia de Drenthe. Musselkanaal comienza aproximadamente en el cuarto desagüe y termina en la frontera municipal entre el municipio de Stadskanaal y Vlagtwedde, un poco más allá del lugar donde se juntan el canal Mussel-Aa y el Musselkanaal. Al norte de Musselkanaal se encuentra el pequeño lugar Horsten; antes del desarrollo del pueblo de Musselkanaal, se designaba el área dorpeña actual con este nombre. La piscina al aire libre de Musselkanaal también lleva este nombre.
