Lagerwey fue una compañía fundada durante la crisis del petróleo de 1973 por Henk Lagerweij, dedicada a la producción turbinas eólicas. Se inició experimentando con pequeñas turbinas de viento, de 2.2 KW. La compañía recibió inicialmente el nombre Lagerwey van der Loenhorst. Una vez afianzada la compañía, la compañía produjo turbinas de 35, 75, 80, 250 y 750 KW
