Dnipró , antiguamente Dnipropetrovsk, Yekaterinoslav o Ekaterinoslav es una ciudad de Ucrania situada a orillas del río Dniéper, capital del óblast de Dnipropetrovsk. Por extensión, se trata de la tercera ciudad más grande del país y es un importante centro comercial, industrial y económico. Posee un gran desarrollo tecnológico en el sector de la metalurgia, de armamento y de la construcción de maquinaria. También es conocida como el principal centro aeronáutico del país.
Las fortificaciones militares que existen actualmente en la ciudad existen desde mediados del siglo XVI. La nueva Dnipró fue fundada en 1776 por el príncipe ruso Grigori Potiomkin por orden de Catalina II de Rusia y fue llamada entre 1776 y 1926 Ekaterinoslav.
